BOSNIA FOOD AND WINE TOUR

Trebinje Old Town

Duration tour 5-6 hours

If you're a foodie or a wine lover, you won't want to miss our unforgettable Bosnia Food and Wine Tour from Dubrovnik. Just a short drive from the Croatian coast, you'll find yourself in the beautiful Trebinje area of Bosnia and Herzegovina, where limestone hills, fertile pockets of land, and colorful vineyards create a breathtaking landscape.

As we cross the border into Bosnia, you'll be transported to a world of stunning natural beauty and rich cultural heritage. We'll start our adventure with a drive up to the top of Gracanica hill, where you'll enjoy panoramic views of the city and learn about the geography of the area. Then, we'll visit the 15th-century Orthodox monastery of Tvrdos, where monks have been producing wine for centuries. You'll have the chance to sample some of their best white and red wines while learning about the hard-working monk lifestyle.

Next, we'll head to the center of Trebinje town, where you'll take a short historical walk through its Austrian and Turkish centers. You'll have the opportunity to taste some of the best Bosnian cuisine at a small restaurant in the heart of the fortified Turkish Old Town, where you'll savor homemade prosciutto, cheese with walnuts, and fried dough balls paired with their home-brewed beer or local wines, such as Zilavka, Vranac, or Rose. As you dine, you'll enjoy a picturesque view of ducks and geese swimming in the nearby Trebišnjica river.

We'll venture out to the hills beyond Trebinje to the village, where you'll be treated in family-owned restaurant Studenac siting on the river Trebišnjica with amazing view serving traditional domestic Bosnian food. You can choose from locally grown meat, fish, or vegetarian dishes, and finish with a delectable dessert such as homemade apple pie or Turkish baklava. Your meal will be paired with family-homemade white or red wine or locally produced bottled beer and homemade grappa or Turkish coffee at the end.

As the sun begins to set, we'll head back to Dubrovnik (around a 40–60-minute drive depending on the border crossing) and drop you off at your hotel or apartment, feeling satisfied and fulfilled from an unforgettable day of food and wine indulgence.

Don't miss out on this incredible opportunity to explore the hidden gems of Bosnia and Herzegovina's food and wine culture. Join us on our Bosnia Food and Wine Tour from Dubrovnik today!
